Orion in some high waisted trunks stands up, back facing us, after almost getting trampled by a huge horse and rider. He says

Lonar, a New God with long hair riding on the horse: “forgive me great Orion! I didn’t intend to Spoil your holiday here.”

Orion whose face seems to channel the feeling of Hell Yes Woah! Replies, “spoil it..
spoil it. Fires of the cosmos!! You’ve scattered my depression to the winds!! The mere sight of that animal is an inspiration, the touch of majesty!”

And he says it is also only because of his lineage as Darkseid’s son that he can wield the power his people have depended on him to use to protect them.

People often get Orion wrong and characterize him as a jerk. That's a little boring to me. (Do people think he's Guy Gardner? Is it the red hair?) His rage is so pure! His anger is so righteous! His fury so noble! It's a rage co-signed by the Source, man. Why taint it with, like, typical alpha male arrogance? Yuck! (If anything, Orion is canonically clinically depressed. Let's talk about that.)
Rage -intense anger—is an emotion that points to extreme injustice. In this case, it is rage toward the villainy of Darkseid who wishes to enslave all life in the universe. New Genesis is a place of diversity, empathy, widespread knowledge, equality and freedom
— all things that Darkseid and fascist leaders hate. (Have we talked about Kirby fighting in World War II?) If Scott Free represents resistance and resilience against fascism, Orion embodies the righteous anger needed to dismantle it brick by brick.

New York Communities for Change proudly celebrates the victories of NYCC members Eon Huntley and Christian Celeste Tate, who defeated entrenched incumbents by running bold, people-powered campaigns rooted in the everyday struggles of working families. While others protected the status quo, Eon and Christian made a clear choice: stand with renters, immigrants, workers, and the communities being priced out of the neighborhoods they call home.

These victories were earned through years of organizing and an unapologetic commitment to lowering the cost of living, advancing climate justice, protecting tenants, and fighting for economic dignity. Eon and Christian didn't win despite taking bold positions-they won because they did. Their victories are proof that New Yorkers are hungry for leaders who will shake up Albany, challenge business as usual, and deliver real change. This is what the future of New York looks like, and NYCC is proud to have Eon Huntley and Christian Celeste Tate joining the fight in the State Assembly."
