The past few days in the VR raving scene have been pretty exhausting. With all that's going on through these imperfect means of communication, it has felt like people feel both grieving and permanently on the edge. I've seen too many people joke about the situation, acted out in anger, taking the opportunity to call out others for miscommunications, putting it on the same level as SA. These are some of the messiest feelings to deal with, and it's very normal to feel exhausted as a result of seeing how everyone has dealt - badly - with that. Since I've been active in VR, there has been many periods where I've found myself having to withdraw from some of the communities I'm involved with, go touch some grass, try to get 8 hours of sleep per night, and focus on my closest friends. As I've been only getting more out there, I've felt the need to make it more known to people when that happens. And it's definitively happening right now. I don't expect everyone to get along. We all have our limits. But, before airing your grievances publicly, consider talking to others. Many of us are neurodivergent, and despite our best intentions, we might end up hurting one another without understanding it. Be graceful, do hold your boundaries, but don't go on the attack if others can dismiss it as silly. I don't know if I'm actually going to take a break of not, but I'll focus on supporting my friends and giving myself the time and space to breathe. We both need to hold ourselves accountable when we mess up, and to give each other the space to grow and become better humans. Very, very few things deserve to be punished as harshly as SA. And your ex is probably just as hurt as you feel. My thoughts are with grey. But all I can really do is to take care of myself and support my friends going through distress. Love y'all! 💜
