The MoD is catastrophically wasteful. Defence procurement is an expensive joke. Sort that out.
In the UK, periods where high defence spending was required went hand-in-hand with both high marginal tax rates (99% during WW2) and windfall profits taxes on companies such as those in the defense industries. Try those instead of picking the pockets of the poor and working class
This is another of those Brexit memes. The UK is missing out on SAFE big time. Eurobond interest rates are significantly lower than these would have to be.
Need to discuss the nature of the threat in precise terms too. Which countries and what threats. Otherwise it could just look lie opportunism
