RCMP Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald says police had visited the shooter’s residence at various points over recent years. Officers had responded to mental-health related calls, and firearms had been seized. “At a later point in time, the lawful owner of those firearms petitioned for those firearms to be returned, and they were.”
