In my case, I didn't need society: I was doing a fine job on myself.

Helpful Advice (said to person in bed, clutching themselves in pain) I get that you have food poisoning and all, but you have to at least make an effort. (said to person spouting blood because left hand is cut off) You just need to change your frame of mind. Then you'll feel better. (said to person injecting insulin into their stomach) I don't think it's healthy that you have to take medication every day just to feel normal. Don't you worry that it's changing you from who you really are? (said to person who's been stabbed in the gut so is trying to staunch the blood with their hands) It's like you're not even trying. (said to person in hospital bed, on IV, monitors, many wires) Well, lying in bed obviously isn't helping you. You need to try something else.
