Just happened to read this bit from "The I Without a Self" from W H Auden's The Dyer's Hand (1962), about a Kafka protagonist versus the 'traditional Quest', and made me think of the "Fool's Errand" below, but like, instead of playing it for laughs it's just an existential bummer
