I'm not sure how to describe the effect exactly, but it's a photo of the sun shining through the top of the Partnach Gorge (Partnachklamm) near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There are trees growing on top of the gorge and the light through the trees looks something like a blue and purple butterfly. The sky is bright, Bavarian blue.
