Fun rally between Chwalinska and Schaider. After a backhand corner to backhand corner exchange, it develops into slices, drops, lobs, and chases. Maja wins it.

Muchova starts to pull Rybakina around the court, bringing her in on the right. Rybakina stretches to clip it just over, to the left, and Muchova sprints in to hook it back across the court, leaving Rybakina no chance. The commentator says, "Ohhh, it is magnificent."

Again it's short, and again Andreeva is on it, driving it into the corner, but Siniakova backhands it sneakily criss-court past the reach of Schnaider. The commentator says, "Oh, how has she managed that!?" Townsend and Siniakova smile and high-five.

Then Wang runs around it to forehand it inside-out, Siniakova's return is short, Wang drops it over the net, Siniakova races in and pushes it down the line, but Wang stretches to backhand it across and behind Siniakova, who chases it down the backhands it down the line. Wang hits a looping volley to the far corner, and Siniakova, who somehow is still sprinting, hooks it past an advancing Wang for a ridiculous winner, and she yells in delight.
Sabalenka serves against Anisimova at 2-0, 30-40. They exchange a barrage of powerful forehands from the baseline before Anisimova unleashes one down the line into the far corner to break.
