The highly reflective metal side of the train mirrors the surrounding desert countryside. The light is a little hazy, contributing to a confusion about where the train ends and the sky begins. At first this image just appears to be chaotic, and then it becomes apparent it is the reflection of tree branches in water. For the most part it also appears to be a black and white image until you see some of the colour from the branches, and some colour from what is below the surface. Photography by Lori Ryerson.

In the sky, the Belt of Venus is creating layered colours in the sky as the sun goes down. The Belt of Venus is an atmospheric condition that creates a faint band of pink in the sky; it happens when the sun goes below the horizon but still illuminates the atmosphere.
