The underlying study makes two really, really weird choices which should give anyone pause. First, they assume that a city is only "affordable" if rent of a median 1-bedroom is 30% of the median wage of someone with no college education. That's an impossible target to hit!

To meet their definition of "affordability" you basically have to get rents down to St. Louis levels. Who are we kidding here?
