A painting depicting the cryptid known as The Flatwoods Monster walking down a runway as paparazzi camera flashes inundate her. She is bringing up her iconic hood to cover the flashing lights. This painting was made with speedball ink done in both an ink wash as well as just the ink alone. I used a small square paint brush, a black ink marker, and dip pen with a tachikawa mangaka G pen nib. This painting is one of my favorites and I’m really satisfied with how the crosshatch shading and the background turned out.

A portrait of an elf with white messy hair, round glasses, and an unhinged look on her face. I’m really satisfied with how this turned out. My goal was to experiment in different aspects of my rendering. For the coloring I wanted to portray hair sheen as waves similar to Gatchaman Crowds. As well as use colors as crosshatching for the shaded areas. When it came to the shaded areas of the skin I opted for using cool tones instead of just darkening the colors in order to make it look lively and vibrant. The background was inspired by trimming I saw on a page of Witch Hat Atelier.

With the lines I wanted to further experiment with my style and add more line weight than usual in areas where a shadow would be to imply the lines were part of the shading. I also added some crosshatching in areas to great darker shadows with out just making it completely black. I really love how this ended up.

With this painting I wanted to experiment with how i came up with cookies so I essentially sketched in the colors. I also wanted to make a lot of the lines and shapes flow and be pleasing to look at, as can be seen in the hair.
For this sketch I wanted to experiment with fixed and forced perspective regarding the shape of the face. It’s all stylistically warped in a way that should be impossible to see certain angles at the view we’re looking at. The cheek is pushed forward, the mouth is facing the viewer. There’s a lot of artists who do this and I really admired the look of it, tho I wonder how many do it on purpose lol.

The character is for a story of mine called CANTSTOP/WONTSTOP which is about a family with a legacy of generational trauma so strong and magical it actually warps reality around them.

I was having initial trouble with this trying to fit the art into the composition. I want this to be done in painting but I might come back to this in Procreate to potentially fix the placement of the subjects.
