An obscure Neon Genesis Evangelion t-shirt (black with the text Episode 23: Tears in Japanese, referring to the late episode called Rei III in English which I remember watching a million times leading up to Kaworu's arrival in the show). Nobody will ever understand the reference but I really like its starkness. It came from the official HYPER JAPAN stall and they have been trying to sell it for a while now (it's also been on the shelves at the Animate pop-up shop) so I figured that I would put it out of its misery. Also pictured is a funny charm case from @uns_basement on Instagram and a cute, fluffy Ralsei (DELTARUNE) pouch from @yorumispl.bsky.social (which was really helpful as I had some coins and nowhere to put them).

The grammar is also bad on the poster for some reason.

The official PSP™ crossbody bag from Zara, priced at under £20 and surprisingly faithful to the handheld's shape with its classic black design and branded strap. Why a PSP bag is being released in 2026 is a mystery but it looks cool, so that doesn't matter.

Great misfortune at the start of my evening when Yunli came home instead of Blade in Honkai: Star Rail. As one of Yanqing's five fans in the universe, I find it difficult to completely forgive Yunli for how she treated my boy. The picture shows her prancing in front of fire and chains and blades. The text 'NEW' shows that the user did not have this character before.

Everyone who spent over a (low) minimum at the official Honkai: Star Rail stand received a gigantic paper bag, which looked awesome but was rather cumbersome when navigating the narrower parts of the show. The bag is decorated with Planarcadia artwork and says SR WORLD TOUR on the side. There were other rewards for spending higher amounts.
There were prominent signs noting the con's no-AI policy (good) and many artists had signs up, but compliance was spotty outside of Artist Alley. It feels crummy when fake artists take advantage of fans by selling their AI-made slop alongside lovingly-made, hand drawn illustrations. MCM has always had this kind of problem; back in the day it was terrible at policing counterfeits (and they still exist on some of the big dealer tables, albeit in much smaller numbers) and now people try to sneak in as 'artists' when they're just writing prompts and trying to cash in.

I wanted Silver Wolf LV.999... instead, I got Argenti! The image is a screenshot of the red-haired 'Knight of Beauty' Argenti from the game Honkai: Star Rail. I'm not especially mad, I'll skip Silver Wolf and get Fei Xiao instead in a few weeks now.
The notification reads "All Set. The length of time you have had an Apple account was used to confirm you are 18+.". Although it did make the user feel extremely ancient, it was much better than having to upload documents or take a picture of their face.
A comparison of the horny Eiden from the BL game NU: Carnival on the left, and whatever-his-name-was from the anime My Ribdiculous Reincarnation on the right (both images are the main key art lazily captured from each series' official website). They are dressed in a very similar way; blue open jacket, cropped black trousers, trainers etc. They even have similar hair. The visuals made it hard to take the show seriously.

A genuine, authentic copy of Alecto The Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, book 4 of The Locked Tomb series. It it definitely not just a different book with a fan-made cover of black card with some neon ink of the book's title and a smiley face. Anyone else suffering in the Alectopause?

A red plate upon which Japanese okonomiyaki has been served. The okonomiyaki includes sweetcorn and has a fried egg on top of it, drizzled with okonomiyaki sauce. Also on top (and below) the okonomiyaki are king oyster mushrooms dressed in spicy miso paste and some cress. Truffle mayonnaise is smeared over the rest of the plate to add extra flavour (there was also a yuzu soy ponzu dip, not pictured). The meal was served at the Okan restaurant in London's South Bank area (County Hall).
A table of mochi doughnuts at Japan Centre, with most of them being ordinary-looking aside from the column of garishly bright blue Dragon Quest 'slime' doughnuts covered in pretty sprinkles and lurid blue icing. Naturally, the user bought one of those.
