My first self portrait session and it felt right to promote my new self published photography book with it. Even got my lil bro to get in on the action🐕
This shot was taken in Eugene, Or at the Paranormal Cirque voodoo show. Her performance was great. I shot at a slow shutter speed to see what kind of image it would produce with some much going. I was excited af when I reviewed my images and had many a few shots like this one.

I was walking out of the bar and I looked to my left. Hannibal Buress was standing right on the sidewalk. I couldnt believe it. Have been a fan for years and he was right in front of me. I asked if I could get a picture with him. He agreed. I had my mirrorless on me and asked if I could get a portrait. I was surprised he said yes, I know he gets that all day long. I was very grateful. We walked over to the alley, as I got the camera ready, I was telling him about the last time I had saw him maybe 10yrs ago. I took this shot and I thanked him. He was mad cool!
Took this inside of a restaurant looking outside. Just made me feel something, so I tried to capture what I was seeing so I could share with friends
Walked into a coffee shop and saw this hanging from the ceiling. Though it was pretty dope and took this shot. The original images does not look like this at all. I underexposed, and in the editing process, deepened the shadows and color graded it more orange and brown tones to give it a darker feel. Night & Day. Let me know if you would like to see the original.

Was a really Foggy night. I had my camera with me while i was running errands. While I was waiting for my order, I went outside, took a few shots. Played with perspective and these are my favorite out of the series.

Sat in this spot for about 40mins catching the fast changing scene. Took a series of shots and here's one of my favorites.

Saw this dog from the bridge i was on during a protest. Had a small window to focus on this dog before I lost them. The way the people framed this photo so random but perfect.
Waited in line for a hour and a half to get into the Fair ground of the Rodeo. Couldn't imagine why it took so long to let people in. While we were waiting, I put my sunglasses to my lens and captured this shot

Went to the coast to clear my mind. I brought my camera because..why not?! lol I saw this person walk up to the water. With the long shadow and her staring into the distance, I felt there was something so poetic about this scene and I took this shot. Im in love! *sidenote: The entire time, I was confused why the shore line was so pulled back. ive never seen it pulled back that far in this area before. I thought maybe it was just the season. After spending a couple hours on the beach, we walked back to my car. A white van pulled up beside us and told us that we were in a tsunami advisory status. Then it clicked why the shoreline was pulled so far out lol. Learned to be a lil more aware of my surroundings this day!

Was walking my dog at night when I saw our strong shadow against the wall! I love shadows and I felt i needed to capture it. I stood still, waited for my dog to turn his head to capture his profile and took this shot.
I saw folks on the side of the road striking. I decided to stop and ask what they were on strike for. I was told that negotiations had failed and the Company was taking away their pension. Backstory: For the past year, I have been documenting The Bigfoot Strike here in Eugene, Oregon. A labor battle that reflects the struggles of working people fighting to protect their future. After the new owners took over the Bigfoot company, tensions escalated when management moved to replace their pension plan with a 401(k). Workers who have built up pension for the past 5 years would lose the time they put into their pension. The company insist that a 401(k) is a better option, but the workers feel otherwise. Employees feel it's a cost cutting move, putting profits over people. Employees understand that the pension offers more stability in the long run. What began as a strike has turned into a prolonged standoff. The company recently initated a "lockout," calling employees back to work despite unresolved negotiations. Over the months on the line, through a cold winter and scorching summer, these workers have shown resilience that moved me deeply. I have so much respect for them and my hopes is to bring attention to their situation. I have formed a relationship with a few of the employees who now feel they have been reduced to numbers in a corporate ledger. Their fight is about dignity, respect, and survival. They are holding their ground under intense pressure and I have so much respect for them.

Fable reached out because she was writing an article for LA based magazine "Peek-A-Boo" and needed a photoshoot to showcase the clothing and accessories she was writing about. I was really excited and honored she reached out to me and trusted me with her vision. It was a fun shoot and she was a natural, which made it easy. We played with a few ideas. This was one of my favorite shots from our shoot.

This was my first studio shoot. I was nervous about the outcome but I wanted the practice. I asked my friend Samira if she would be my first model. After a few shots and reviewing the shots, my confidence shot up. Couldn't believe the amazing shots that we were producing. Was very happy with my first studio series!
I was in a parking garage and I looked over the edge of the garage and felt this view would be cool to capture. Just as I was looking over, a bus passed by. I thought that would have been a great shot, but I couldn't pull my camera out fast enough. I waited and waited for another bus to come, but no telling when the next bus was going to come. So told myself, id just capture the next car(s) that passed by. I captured this. When I got home and reviewed this photo. It was speaking to me but couldn't quite figure out what. Then it hit me. Red, blue and the white from the street lines and concrete. America! How blue and red are going in opposite directions. Makes me think of the divide in unity that politics plays in this country.

Me and my roommate were chillin on her porch when I saw this scene. I went to grab my camera and was surprised they were still there. I couldn't get the angle that I wanted with my camera so I whipped out my phone and rushed to get this shot. I figured they would have flown off by the time I stopped fumbling around with my equipment. But they stayed. I took a few pics quickly so I wouldnt miss the moment. They still didn't move. So i eased into the shot and got closer and closer until I got to a point where my phone wouldn't focus if I got any closer. I took this shots and was happy with it. *sidenote: after the shot, i put my hand right next to these insects expecting them to fly off but they still didn't move. on closer inspection, I think the male fly had died! Must have been worth it. lesson from nature: Fellas be safe out there lol.
if I remember correctly, as I was just making it to the shoreline and walking out into the sand, I saw these folks throwing out things for the birds to eat. They almost looked like bird charmers because the birds just hovered, as if these folks had some telepathic control over them. Hovered over them so long that I had time to get my camera out, adjust my settings and took a few images...and still had time to watch in awe as these birds continue to hover in this one spot. Was a cool sight to see.
One of my favorite spots to clear my mind is the coast. I found this Airbnb in walking distance from the water. At the top half of the door, there was a glass frame to where you could look outside toward the coast. As I was leaving, I noticed how the window frame framed the scene to the outside perfectly. What I was seeing was beautiful and I wanted to capture this scene the way my eyes saw it.
I wanted to expand my skills with photography. I was amazed by the photos ive seen of long exposure and wanted to try it. I watched a few tutorials on long exposure and once I was ready to try, I grabbed my tripod and camera around midnight and walked on to this quiet street. I couldn't have asked for a more chill scene attempting my first try. The street lights bounced off the heavy fog giving me a moody scene. All I had to do was wait. After about 15 mins, I saw headlights in the distance. I positioned my camera and made sure all of my settings were dialed in. I had my camera on a 4 sec timer delay, so as the car began to approach my position, I pressed the shutter. Once I reviewed the shot. I was in love and also proud of myself that I could create an image as this.
Sunset on the coast of Oregon. Probably some of the best sunsets I've seen in my life time, ive seen on this coast. wish I could bottle the feeling I get every time im out there. but I guess a picture will have to do lol I love this shot, not only for the color but it looks like a wave is in the clouds as well.
