Today, March 31st, is International Transgender Day of Visibility. This day is annually recognized around the world to uplift our trans family, friends, and community members. Despite what some politicians say, trans people are real and in your community right now. Trans people are valuable marching arts community members. Not only for their contributions to the artform, although there are many very skilled and dedicated trans people making such contributions, but just for existing.

Let's do better together. If you're a marcher, staff member, or parent, ask questions. Don't be afraid to speak up if something seems unethical or exploitative. Support. groups that prioritize fairness, safety, and transparency.
Membership isn't just a word. True members are seen as equals amongst marching members, and are respected and regarded as such. They earn the title of veteran after 1 year of membership. They receive member-only items, such as jackets, necklaces, or any other members-only memorabilia.
