Tess Snider @malkyne.com · May 10 There are multiple Hantavirus strains already present in rodents in North America. There's little reason to suddenly start being scared of this now, when a woman in New Mexico died from a different (but just as lethal) domestic strain, just last year.

its probably not a pandemic coming but these different hantavirus strains have different characteristics; the us strains have an r0 close to 0 while some andesvirus outbreaks have been >2 until they started control measures
