Marcus Hutchins @malwaretech.com · May 10 I bought one of those fancy automatic vacuum/mop things. Actually pretty impressed by the AI mapping software. It just did a quick run through of my place, not the full wall to wall mapping Roomba does, and automatically figured out which room is which.

I just got one today for (presumably) rhe same reason as you. Keeping on top of puppy fur. The options are overwhelming.
It’s super pretty, but the central button is a lidar turret that pops up, so I can’t put googly eyes on the bot without blocking the sensors 🥺
The ones that have lidar are so much better than the alternatives. This is a post about autonomous vehicle safety.
2¢ says you'll move the base to the kitchen and re-map. Also, remote/rotate on the spot is handy! Enjoy, and remember if one pass misses stuff, do another. It's a robot!
I am done with Roomba and recommend against it. The mapping is awful and doesn’t even work. When I start a clean for just one room, it immediately goes to a different one for no apparent reason.
