The right to be confused. The right to claim a mistake and revise your thinking. The right to speak, listen, and be heard. The right to write, do, and represent what makes sense to you. The right to be safe and respected.

After attending a conference, teachers' thinking shifted to understand the value of revising, that students can learn while making mistakes, that teachers can intentionally use language while teaching to promote drafting and revising, that peer collaboration supports revising, that rough drafting and revising can happen in math (not just language arts), and that rough drafting and revising in mathematics class is feasible to implement.
