His legs, back leg almost down on one knee, front leg bent, are both pointing down the pitch to our right, but his chest and head are facing us. He was playing for the West Indies against England, and on his way to an unbeaten 163 at Lord’s in June 1966.

Another detail of the painting where I have modified the brightness levels to see if I can detect whether Rembrandt painter her pubic hair. I suspect he has, but despite the detail provided by the National Gallery it still isn't sufficient. What he has done is made us aware that this part of the body is exposed to the viewer even though it is in shadow.
