I can still remember my ID, and still use my password to this day because it’s great. At work we had free evenings and weekend calls so I’d be in all weekend searching and downloading stuff from CIS. Happy days. Then I bought a house, got my first domain name and demon account. No more CIS.

Didn't really get into the Internet early on. I started off with Lineone, because it was a local rate dialup number (0845). Probably shortly after it launched.

I miss both compuserve and AOL. some said it was limited but I enjoyed the private areas and social interactions, with the ability to go out in the scary www if we wanted. Was always fun,

Compuserve was the isp I used on the 1st PC I owned (Packard Bell Corner PC) with that disk when I started using internet in 1996. The internet was nicer then 😞

I’ve recently started to use Reddit and that seems a bit more like the forums of old. Still get a few Karens and Dave down the pub posts but not too bad. FB I’ve closed down a long time ago. X is Musk PR but I been on since 2009 so too stubborn to give up. Just post anti Trump/Torries stuff
