While others had colour screens and more power, Nintendo’s battery life, game library, and affordability won. I wonder if power WAS the real battle in the end? As much as I enjoyed the novelty of the Game Gear's display, batteries were expensive and I spent a majority of my time playing it tethered to an outlet. So many great memories of playing the GB in the car on family vacation and later in the field during the military.
The size, cost and games on the Gameboy won it for me.
I assume that when you play now, your rival’s name is “Mike.”
I had a Game Boy. My neighbour had a Lynx. After a few months, the lynx was relegated to a draw, and he got a Game Boy as well. The games and the vastly better battery life convinced him.
How is it enhanced?
