The plants (they are not flowers) are called cooksonia, and were one of the first widespread land plants. The tall things (8m or 25ft) are prototaxites. This got me curious about prototaxites, and apparently there was a paper published earlier this year that hypothesizes they represent a now extinct distinct kingdom of eukaryotic life, separate from plants, animals, fungi, and other eukaryotes. I think thats neat.
Just looked up coolsonia to see if I could plant some in the garden! Oh well. Will look up prototaxites, maybe I'll have some luck there 😂
