I love this visualisation of a CNN. Reminds me of these images showing activations at specific layers. Lower layers show edge and colour detection. Mid shows basic patterns, shapes. Higher layers activate on objects - eyes, tyres, bridges - and complex patterns. (img src: stackoverflow)
