Nin is known for its relentless summer heat due to being built almost exclusively out of blindingly white local stone, and for the fact that it was the first royal capital of Croats when they arrived in their present lands in the 7th century. The area has been continuously inhabited for at least 10,000 years and the town located on an islet is agreed to be approximately 3,000 years old. And you can feel it.

Each year comes summer and so do people. Warm people, warm hands, full bellies, cuddles, laughter, games. And then people slowly start disappearing, nights get longer and colder. Winter lasts forever. Cold, howling wind, empty bellies. Some don't make it. And then, slowly, the days start getting longer, nights warmer again...
