Phoenix LiveView is famous for its ability to empower teams to move very fast, allowing us to build complex features with just a fraction of the code needed in traditional approaches (e.g. SPA). But what happens when performance starts to degrade, and particularly when the user experience (UX) starts to plummet? In this talk we'll explore how LiveView's incredibly nimble async API can help us, guided by a real-life story that we at Sona have faced in production.
This talk explores Elixir’s Abstract Syntax Tree (AST), the foundation behind many powerful tools in the ecosystem, its structure and purpose. We’ll examine how both Credo and Sourceror leverage the AST to enable static analysis, code transformation, and linting. By the end of the session, we'll apply these insights through a practical example of building custom checks and transformations.
