Traditional West African and Southern United States meal to bring good luck and good finances in the new year. Black eyed peas (from Rancho Gordo Bean Club) represent coins and turnip greens represent dollars. This is the most delicious meal I’ve tasted in weeks. A bat with rabies was physically handled at the north entrance to 88-100 Harbour St. in Toronto on June 25 just after 9:20 a.m. ET. Toronto Public Health is looking for a person involved to receive treatment. The unidentified person is described as around five-foot-eight in height with a beard. During the incident, they were wearing eyeglasses, a black t-shirt, black pants, white sneakers and were seen holding a black water bottle. They are signified in this photo by being surrounded with a blue drawn circle. Toronto Public Health is urging the person or people they’re with to immediately call the health agency as rabies will lead to death if it is left untreated before symptoms appear. (The news articles say “may lead,” but my family is full of medical professionals and I’ve read some clinical literature around rabies.
