A rare portret-mode orientation in my landscape picture series. Sunset over a little bay next to the river. Clouds and sunset reflect in the water, near and far. Closerby, the mound of the private bay is flanked by silhouettes of willow. It may be hard to make out what exactly is reflection and what is seen directly.

Sticker op een bushokje. Op de sticker met een witte achtergrond staat links een licht gekantelde graffiti spuitbus met daaraan gewerkt de woorden: "Fashos hors de nos villes." Opvallend hieraan vind ik dat deze slogan zich laat inspireren door die van de fascisten hier, zoals bvb "uit de wijk, uit de stad"

Sailing from the Meuse river into Port de Statte, Huy. It's a cosy port with facilities - 🚿shower! ⚡power! 🍽️! Great place to leave the boat while I'm off to work 😆

Sailing on the upper Meuse river between an impressive rock face and an old large farm or chateau.
The river Meuse just above Dinant. A train bridge crosses the water just in front of the lock basin in the distance on the left bank. Trees on the mountains beside the valley bring a very green ambience to the scenery. The sun is falling low and casts long shades.

A fisher is sailing a 1-person rubber boat. Only eyeing his fish monitor screen, he steers the boat so his fishing lines dangle the bait in front of the exact fish he's after.
Vanochtend windstil hier. Ik kijk Frankrijk in, onder de brug van Heer richting Givet. Op beide oevers hier waren drukke kaaien met overslag van steen uit een groeve op rechteroever en hier o.a. een tankstation voor de binnenvaart. Sinds beide gesloten zijn, meert hier enkel nog af en toe ene binnenschip of pleziervaart aan.
A rock face, maybe 200m wide and 50m high, on the right bank of the Meuse river gives a nice cross sectional view of the history of the rock. Below and on top of it, trees. Remarkable is how, to the left, the layers in the rock point downwards steep to quickly bend, go horizontal and then up again. In the center, over the widest tree, a big dimple in the crack lines bends in a much shorter radius even.
Sunset while I'm looking for a way out of this fenced terrain.
This used to be industrial terrain. No road, just bushes and grass, dried crisp yellow by consecutive heatwaves lately. Crossed this.

Below, a long closed Esso gas station in obvious decay. On top of the mountain behind it, the citadel of Givet built in 1555 by Charles V.
On the border, 2 flag poles at the golden hour. One waves the French flag, the other the Belgian.
Tall rock spikes over 50m high just on the bank of the river Meuse.
On the towpad, with no earlier announcement or warning than a yellow square with shaded yellow stripes just in front of them, a flight of stairs 1½ meters down. Alongside it, a 1 meter wide ramp for cyclists.

Zonsondergang boven de Maas in Dinant. In de verte, langs het water, tekent de stad zich als silhouet af tegen het laatste licht van de dag.
De citadel van Dinant, getrokken vanop linkeroever. We kijken over de brug over de Maas met z'n vele vlaggen en kleurrijke saxofoons die herinneren aan deze geboorteplaats van Adolphe Sax.
Sticker in een wagon op een trein. 'Zone de silence Stiltezone' staat erop, vergezeld van die pictogrammen die op hetzelfde wijzen.
Tot goed 10 dagen geleden was dit een pot droog zand. Toen kwam er die scheut. Na een jaar dan maar terug es water gegeven. Nu, 3 scheuten waarvan de hoogste wel ½m hoog. #LEEF

Veel hooiwagens in een nis. En de meeste gingen al lopen toen ik naderde met m'n hand en meertouw.

On the bridge over the Meuse river in Dinant, tens of flags from various countries around the world. For the occasion, a 4:1 scale saxophone in fitting decoration colors is placed near each flag. Here, the US flag on a backdrop of Dinant's famous citadel and neighboring Notre-Dame church.

Vertrek in Profondeville. Een wimpel van m'n mastje wappert in beeld wanneer ik de lage aanmeerplaats langs het jaagpad vaarwel zeg.

Op de voorgrond, wat er overblijft van m'n 2e cornetto. Ik at het voorop de 🛥️, de inox beugel verbergt een boogje van de Maas. Het is donker en in de verte spiegelt een verlichte rotswand in het water.

Panoramisch uitzicht over een meanderende Maas, 250m hoger dan ik vertrokken was.
Zicht op Profondeville wanneer ik nader vanuit Namen: een lange, trage bocht naar links met op de buitenoever een klein dorpje. Ik zie daar ook een aanmeerplaats. Yes!!
Een man komt voorbij op een elektrische surfplank. Met een bakje in z'n hand controleert hij de snelheid, door z'n gewicht te balanceren stuurt hij.
Een kasteel met tuin op rechteroever van de Maas.
Een blik op de jachthaven van Namen met daarboven, aan de overkant op een rots, de citadel.
