It's weird how these kinds of anime adaptations rarely work. Same goes for the various attempts at making a Godzilla anime, they just don't capture what makes Godzilla cool, which is weird because Godzilla can be MANY things and has definitely room for new takes.
the aesthetic and the themes of the original Kamen Rider. You could make the same exact story without Kamen Rider because the references are just window dressing. Maybe it'll change later, I don't know.
