The contraptions presented in The New Machinery, a new series of constructed works, are amalgamations of parts. Their presence is mysterious and seductive, and while logic is implied, their function remains inscrutable. The machinery’s components are all material and light studies photographed from discarded objects—obsolete glass samples, disassembled machine parts, plastic toys, whose imperfections record their well-handled history. Drawings and markings created alongside these objects are photographed as well.

Seattle-based artist/designer/ illustrator/social critic Shawn Wolfe. Wolfe's experience with the advertising industry is what led him to create such a statement attacking the emptiness of consumerism and marketing. The global "Panic Now" campaign which shredded all gloss and romance from ads reducing them to shrill messages to panic.
Since 1991, Steve Walters (under the moniker Screwball Press) has been printing posters, CD packaging, and a variety of other collectible items for Chicago’s indie rock community. This poster design is seen in John Cusack's apartment in the movie High Fidelity.
Wosene’s inspirations are varied, drawing upon African traditions, personal experience, American jazz, and Western art practices. Fractured images of jazz instruments, musical notes, and strings can be found amongst household objects and figures as well as layers of paint, recalling the overall whimsical and joyful compositions of jazz.
The Warhol/Basquiat collaborations are celebrated today, but their first joint exhibition in New York in 1985 received poor reviews. Basquiat was disappointed by the criticism, especially being labeled as Warhol's "mascot" and he subsequently withdrew from the collaboration. The relationship between the two artists was never quite the same again.
During the mid 1980s Warhol returned to the newspaper adverts that had informed his paintings of the early 1960s. He created a group of works called ‘Ad’s and Illustrations’ that differed from his photographic screenprints and highly stylised images of celebrities. They are mostly black and white and were created by tracing the original adverts by hand, which creates a looser, graphic quality. During the 1980s the U.S.A. was still in the depths of the Cold War. Within this context three themes emerge in these paintings: war, death and religion. This work is clearly spiritual, with light radiating from a star on the figure’s forehead and its soul-searching question. It also suggests Warhol’s personal insecurities about his appearance and enormous desire to ‘fit in’.
Page’s restored original instrument in 2019, the first time it has been seen in 50 years since it was almost ruined in 1969. Page was originally given the guitar by Jeff Beck in 1966.

Nutt is a principal member of the Hairy Who, an irreverent group of artists who began exhibiting together in Chicago during the late 1960s. Their Surrealist-inspired work aimed at subverting artistic conventions and standards of taste, and they became known as part of the Chicago Imagist movement.
