When your father is a powerful dark magician, you end up with a lot of interesting and dangerous things around the house — souvenirs of his many magical exploits, trophies of his many battles, even a magical prisoner or two. But Amelia Shadows’s father isn’t just any powerful dark magician, he is the most powerful dark magician, in the whole world! So you know her house is filled with all sorts of stuff. Very dangerous stuff. Stuff she’s not supposed to mess with. Not that Amelia has ever been good at obeying rules. While poking around in one her father’s many trophy rooms, Amelia breaks the most important magic rule of all — when you find a mysterious box making strange noises at you, under no circumstances should you open it! Another part in a story of a not so ordinary teenager. April 1, 2026 After finding out she's one of the Night Folk, Autumn still lives her ordinary life, because she has no other choice. She still has to finish school and work to help her mum. One day she sees her dad, who abandoned her years ago. Autumn doesn't even know why he left, and he's back and acting very strange. And it seems like another person in her life is hiding something. I really liked the story in this volume. Automn's character development is well written. She's getting stronger, but she also still acts as a teenager. I would love to see other characters explain more things to her instead of waiting for the situation to force them to do it. he art style in this series is lovely, quite simple, but I love it. It gives the story more character. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a digital copy of this book.
