From Huehnergard's Grammar of Akkadian (3e), p.16 From comparison with other Semitic languages, it is known that, very early in its history, Akkadian merged five consonants that it had inherited from Proto-Semitic; these are transcribed ˀ, h, ḥ, ˁ, ǵ by students of Semitic philology, although Assyriologists often refer to them as ˀ₁, ˀ₂, ˀ₃, ˀ₄, ˀ₅, respectively. (ˀ₅, Semitic ǵ, merged withˀ1-5 in some instances; Kogan 2001.) The phonemes w and y also merged with these in some instances; in such cases, they are referred to as ˀ₆ and ˀ₇, respectively. It's a 1989 Charvel 750XL with a flame top and amber stain. The construction is a set neck in a mahogany body, with a 24.75" scale length and 24 frets. Basically it's the unholy child of a Les Paul and a regular 80s Charvel Super-Strat, and it's one of my most cherished possessions.
