Alderman, 9th ward, St. Louis City

Most of the trees are still bare, branches reaching upwards without leaves, but the evergreens form solid silhouettes against a sky that is blue, pink, and white. As above, so is below as the lake reflects back the sky and tree line with vivid color.
"The incident at the Walgreens on Lindell yesterday was a tragedy, and represents the kind of senseless violence that our city is working hard to prevent. At this time the suspect is in custody, and the three victims are in stable condition. We are grateful for that. The city will be working with the area businesses to find the best approach to keeping patrons and employees safe. That job is made more difficult when the state of Missouri allows unfettered access to guns, such that a 19 year old shooter was able to obtain a gun and use it to harm three people yesterday. This incident should never have happened, and as our police routinely remind us: when everyone has a gun, we are all less safe. Rather than a change in police oversight that did nothing to decrease crime in Kansas City, the state could help St. Louis by focusing on passing common sense gun control."
