Too much advertising now--perhaps more smart regulations? In my global regulation of drug development class, I learned that the U.S. is the only market where companies can directly market to patients. Rules exist for interactions with providers, not patients.

With no disrespect, TV's not meant to entertain, educate or inform. It's there to sell. And the means of the sales is commercials. I detest Citizens United but I don't know how to disconnect paid advertising (political, pharma or crappy products) from news programming. I'm happy to discuss ideas.
