1) 🇧🇪 Researchers from Leuven and Hasselt university published a protocol for an extensive ME/CFS study. It includes cytokine measurements, MRI and PET scans, gut microbiome analysis, and salivary cortisol following a stress test.

2) Leuven's clinical centre takes a biopsychosocial approach to ME/CFS. Patients will be tested before and after a cognitive-behavioral rehabilitation treatment, delivered as part of routine clinical care. The goal is to test 115 ME/CFS patients and 55 controls.

Out of all the research happening, why highlight this one? Is it because it fits with your view that MECFS is psychiatric?

Would be helpful to know what patient group under the ME/CFS umbrella they are studying. I don't see that they state which criteria they are using.

Forgive my naivety, but it seems to me that they intend to measure a lot of variables that we already know from the literature tend to be fairly inconsistent between studies, before and after an intervention. Can the results be anything but inconclusive? Don't really understand the point... 🤔
