3.5 ⭐️ Dawn of the Firebird is beautifully written, but there is so much world and culture building that it detracts from the story. Fans of The Poppy War will enjoy this one. I don't feel like I grasped the plot and stakes to care enough to be fully invested. #Booksky

This is one of those series that I bet the second book will be amazing because we’ve moved past the heavy world-building and training arc. Sarah Slimani does an amazing job narrating the story. Thank you to Harlequin Audio for the ALC.
