Two yellow labs are asleep in a leather armchair. Kestrel (bottom) was there first and is positioned comfortably. Wigeon (top) arrived second and positioned herself on top of Kes, but her rear wouldn’t fit properly so it’s hanging off the side of one arm. NB: there is an empty, available armchair in the background of the picture. Widge declined.
All five yellowish retrievers insist on lying on the same elevated dog bed instead of using the empty one *right* next to them. Wigeon (lab, middle left) has her head up and looks like she might be reconsidering her life choices. Merlin (lab, top right) is also staring at the camera but appears fine with the current arrangement.
Three yellow Labradors are lying on the floor in the kitchen hoping for some dropped/discarded Thanksgiving goodies. They were not disappointed.

Two white retrievers (Kestrel and Pipit) are mouth jousting and chomping any part of the other they can. Almost off screen two more white retrievers (Raven and Merlin) are gnawing on bones. Everyone’s pleased.

Once the ball is thrown, they turn and bury their faces in the leaves, on the hunt. From off frame bound in Raven and Pipit (English cream retrievers) to assist in the search. Ravey, the bounciest of them all, has en epic wipeout on her second bounce in, but is undaunted.

Merlin (yellow lab, on a leash with me) greets the lit ladies and Ravey Gravey (English cream who has lost her light) joins up so that everyone is together again.

Five white(ish) dogs are all curled up, asleep, on one elevated dog bed. They are ignoring the whole second empty dog bed immediately next to occupied one. Difficult to tell where one dug end and another begins. I’m fairly certain we’ve exceeded the weight rating.

Macadamia (a gray and white cat) is sitting on the corner of a large bed next to a pile of clean laundry. All of a sudden she rushes across to the opposite corner of the bed to attack something/someone. Her assistance is vital to me completing my task without harassment from unseen monsters. It is spooky season, after all.
Raven, and English cream retriever, is delighted with her own personal harvest basket (which she’s carrying in her mouth by its handle) and is ready to help!
Five white/yellow dogs are lying on the kitchen floor. They are making moving about the kitchen nearly impossible but at least I am well-supervised. Bottom to top: Pipit, Raven, Merlin, Kestrel, and Wigeon.
Egret and Heron, two large, white, livestock guardian dogs are in the barn and are delighted at the thought of good food, good drink, excellent company, and a warm spot to relax.

Five dogs are all lying on their sides, four in the hallway and one in my office. When I say Merlin’s name he starts wagging his tail and looks up at me.
Wigeon, a yellow lab, is asleep on a brown leather chair. Her head is propped up on the arm of the chair and she isn’t moving. On top of Wigeon is Walnut, a small gray and white tiger cat. He is in between her front and back legs and is squirming around. He rubs up against her and eventually starts gnawing on her foot. His teeth are visible. Wigeon doesn’t move and continues to sleep.
Five white dogs are cuddled up in their beds. Everyone is exhausted. Physically, mentally, existentially.

Raven (English cream retriever) and Kestrel (yellow lab) are side by side with a chew bone in their mouths (which you can’t see bc it’s not designed for that!) and are completely ignoring the rope toy on the floor designed for, oh, I don’t know, playing tug with your sister!
Heron and Egret (two white livestock guardian dogs) are both standing on their hind legs with their front paws on the top of a stall door, looking at new kittens who have arrived in the barn. Rosie, a bay mare, is visible next to them.
Three yellow labs are all asleep on a bed covered in a gray comforter. Kestrel is on her side and Wigeon is using her as a pillow. Merlin is on his stomach with his head on his front paws, looking at the camera. There is no room for humans.
Pipit, and English cream retriever, is sitting in the middle of a longish hallway, looking scared. Behind her, Cashew (a calico cat) is looking thru a glass-paned door. In front of Pip and to her left is Walnut, a gray tiger cat. She is petrified of moving because cats are scary and full of knives. With some verbal encouragement she finally makes it to safety. But it was a close call.
Raven, an English cream retriever, is SO DELIGHTED you’re here that she cannot even contain her tongue in her mouth.
Pipit and Raven, two English cream retrievers, are standing face-to-face, and when Pip glances away Raven ATTACK! Pip ends up on her back with Raven gnawing on her leg. Kestrel (yellow lab) comes by to I spect but opts out of getting involved.

Three originally white/yellow retrievers look as though their lower halves have been dipped in dark chocolate. But it’s mud. Lots and lots of mud. The dogs look very happy. The person who administers baths: not as happy.
Two kittens are sound asleep on their (human) girl. Benton, an orange male, is sprawled on his girl’s side, while his sister, Lincoln (a tortoiseshell) is in the crook of her arm. All three of them are sacked out.

Three yellow labs (Wigeon, Merlin, Kestrel) have their heads stuck thru an open baby gate that, if closed, prohibited them from entering the living room. They were very diligently respecting the boundary but making it clear they wanted to be on the other side.
Two horses are in separate stalls in a barn. On the right is Raymond, a bay gelding, who is leaning over the stall wall to touch Rosie’s withers. Rosie, a paint mare, is looking towards the outer paddock with her ears alert.
Benton, a new-to-our family orange kitten, is sitting on a bed looking directly at the camera. It’s the slight lip curl on the right side of his face that makes him look both mischievous and slightly disdainful. In short: he’s perfect.
Raven (and English cream retriever) is employing a tried-and-true method of bracing oneself on slippery floors. Sit with back legs spread and rump against the wall. And look expectant.
