Mere Walton is inducted into the Independent Writers Caucus Mere has been selected as a member of the prestigious professional organization The Independent Writers Caucus. Mere submitted her new Dramedy Feature GOTTA DANCE! which scored 7/8's on the Blacklist. The film is about a writer who realizes her roommate is a ghost, so she helps the former dancer fulfill her last wish and jitterbug into the afterlife.

Bone tired walking hours on blistered feet a teenage mother wavers in the street. Resolute, she approaches the brightly lit inn, gripping her belly – whispers over the din, “Is there room for me to pass the night?” “Get on with you! You’re a disgusting sight!” Turning, the girl returns to the street, from an alley, a voice whispers - an entreat. “Go round to the back. There’s a warm place to sleep.” Exhausted, scared, she slowly creeps- to a barn infused with a prism of light. Tiptoeing in she’s greeted with the sight of twenty women huddled, in the same state as her. Scooting over, an ancient woman pats the fur of the few blankets they’ve all chosen to share. “We’re all carriers of that bastard’s heirs. Sisters united in our despair- no medicine, no home, no food to eat- tonight we share comfort despite our defeat- all too soon we’ll be back on the street.” The youngest by a decade, the girl nods her head, Lowers her full body to the floor – and sleeps like the dead. No reaction when the ancient woman inserts a metal chip in her ear- “These young ones are too naïve to recognize fear- the ages we had rights, controlled our own destiny- now we’re forced to inhabit the dreams of man’s ancestry.”
