Near the beginning of horizon, right after the first part of training is over. Focus: Emotion in color,clothing style & behaves on a posed figure. Blending (with light and color) the figure to the environment so they look like they exist together. Drawing style choices was experiment. Giving the sense that the woman feels an emotion.
This character was drawn digitally. The reference I used was a very sloppy AI image I generated. What you see up to this point was drawn from scratch and looks very different from the AI image. The character is drawn with unusual proportions on purpose. I'm still developing my ability with drawing form in space so the unusual proportions aren't working for me. In other words, I want unusual proportions drawn with good form. trying to adjust the unusual proportions will keep the artist going in circles when the problem is with the form. To get to this point in the image took around 2-4 hours. Keep in mind I skipped the Ideation faze, so that sped things up. After getting to this point I could have taken the rendering process further but didn't. I know my own limitations. I can do folds I can do shading. what most people don't realize is you can be good at drawing both those things but getting them to "work" on a character is more about experience than ability. Experience in drawing different types of characters in different poses..the more variety the better. So thats what I plan to do. With this character I wanted to see what could be done with AI to help take the rendering further, adjusting proportions, and adding folds in the clothing. #art #character #drawing #digital
