Five photos showing off a bucket hat I made. The top photos show the hat on a mannequin head, while the bottom ones have me wearing it in a park setting. The middle image shows my initial sketch, which turned out very close to the final product. The hat has orange and red stripes with an embroidered Mr. Saturn, Ramblin Evil Mushroom, and Mobile Sprout marching along. The reverse side of the hat has a pattern of dragons against a red background. Parts of the hat are made with blue denim, which I cut out of old jeans.
Yellow pattypan zucchini, a huge honkin' head of broccoli, like 20 Russian Red garlics freshly dug up and ready to be cured, all framed by a bunch of California poppies. I've never been so successful with broccoli before! And this is my first time growing pattypans, which have turned out quite tender and tasty. I was worried about my garlic, because another variety that I grew ended up kinda small, but the Russians are ever robust and reliable. I haven't had to buy garlic in years.
A prototype Split Head plushie photographed with some printed fabric. The fabric prints are uncut pieces of Split Head's pattern pieces. It's tricky creating so much print because I don't know what my art will look like in the final product until it gets made. Are the colors going to print okay? Is the positioning of print going to be in the correct location once the fabric gets sewn? I still don't really know; I have yet to hold the completed plushie in my hands. I have to assess my work through photographs on a probably-inaccurately-calibrated computer screen.
Dragon Hopper's 2 page spread from Nintendo Power 86, 1996. It was the only info I ever saw on the Virtual Boy game before it was quietly cancelled. And now, in 2026, the game has finally been released on Nintendo Switch Online!

A photo of a ink pad, linocutters, and 4 stamps hand-carved from pink rubbery printing block material. There's also a paper showing test prints of the stamps. They are my Metroidhat logo, the Super Metroid S symbol, a Metroid, and Samus's helmet, with her angry eyes showing through. I use this test print to see what areas still need to be carved. There's often little raised areas that I miss on the stamps, and now I can see them easier and carve them away.

Panel 3: Samus is driving donuts, yelling "Why can't I hit this rock?!" The crystal is in the middle, unmoved, untouched, moisturized.

The first prototype of the Jormungandr puppet. He's tropical orange and raspberry red colored. Plus his tail is a stubby little thing. My hand is inserted in a pouch at his neck which allows me to manipulate his mouth.

And it's in light green, pink, and orange candy colors. Because this is a prototype meant to show construction, it doesn't have to be game accurate and I can use whatever colors I want!
Four pictures of the Broken Vessel character plushie. They are a hunched-over jar-headed bug with a cape, curved horns, and a huge bulbous mass of orange infection growing out their head. They have weighted pellets in their body and legs sticking straight out, which greatly help them from tipping over.
A tote bag made of red fabric and custom printed canvas. The print on it has Mr. Saturns from Earthbound in a number of poses. Like in a 5-stack ladder, hopped up on mushrooms, showing his butt, etc. I drew them and got the fabric printed! There's also a Mr. Saturn plushie I made, hanging out to help sell the photo.
Bow Kid plushie prototype from four different angles. She's a big-eyed girl with dark curly hair held back by a blue ribbon headband, a collared green jacket, and a tiered blue skirt. One of the angles includes an upskirt shot, showing her white panties. Hey, it's not pervy! It's important to include these kinds of angles in the initial photoshoot, in case anyone has a problem with it. Because of course the customer will turn her around immediately and see the panties once Bow Kid is in their hands. The devs indeed wanted her panties changed into purple shorts. You're welcome, for my non-pervy insight.
Four small plushies from the Hollow Knight series: Wanderer Knight, Grub, Hornet, and Myla. These small plushies are 3.5-4 inches high and have loops of cord for hanging off a backpack.
An Articuno plushie photographed at several different angles. The main body and legs are suede, while the head and tail feathers are blue satin to give them some luster. The chest has a real feather ruff. The eyes, beak, and claws are sculpted and painted. Wire runs through all the limbs and the tail for maximum posing. I still remember some of the techniques I learned from making this birdy, like how to achieve a flat object that has wires running through it.

My prototype Astrobot plushie from four different angles. The more subtle the shapes, the more difficult they are to achieve in plushie form. Like, the head isn't just a 'circle', and the body isn't just an 'oval', so they required a lot of care. I'm very pleased with my choice of eye fabric, in which the individual sparkles are reminiscent of pixilation.
Pictures of an Isaac plushie prototype from 3 angles. Seeing his back shot reminded me of a funny story. So, Fangamer released pictures of Isaac several months before he was available to be sold, and some counterfeiters thought they could beat us to the punch by making their own version. The thing is, Fangamer never released pictures of his back, so the thieves didn't know what it looked like. They sold their version which has an empty back!

An incomplete Seam plushie. He's yellow, naked, only has one arm and one leg, and his features are just paper pieces pinned on. I didn't need to make a full prototype when this was enough for me to share the pattern with the factory. I think, my biggest flub in this pattern was that I used fleece, which I often do in place of minky because the two fabrics have approximately the same stretch. However, I didn't realize that the final plushie was meant to be made out of baby minky, which has twice as much stretch as normal minky. This resulted in some unforeseen problems with the subsequent factory samples.

An early ENA:DBBQ sample from the factory that I drew notes all over. I explained in Mandarin how I wanted the hair and collar tacked down, fingers better sewn, suspenders shortened, legs longer, and hat with a different colored embroidery.
