Reject Extremism: Ask them to publicly condemn hate speech, conspiracy theories, and threats against democracy.
Take Legislative Action: Tell them to support bills that protect civil rights, healthcare, and social justice—or demand they oppose harmful legislation.
Marginalized Peoples: Urge them to fight against harmful policies that target immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks (especially Trans people), people of color, and those living in poverty.
Defend Democracy: Push back against voter suppression, authoritarianism, and attacks on democratic institutions.
Speak Truth to Power: Remind them that their constituents are watching and will not tolerate complicity.
Demand Accountability: Encourage your representatives to speak out and hold Trump responsible.
Call Your Representatives Presidents’ Day is a time meant to honor the office of the President. But respect for the office doesn’t mean silence in the face of harm. Right now, we have a leader who is endangering democracy, targeting human rights and the well-being of our communities. As people of faith and conscience, we believe in speaking truth to power. We are called to demand justice, to challenge oppression, and to protect those most vulnerable. Our democracy only works if we hold those in power accountable.
