We are writing to urge you to act immediately for the safe return home of three NZ citizens - Samuel Leason, Rana Hamida and Youssef Sammour - abducted illegally in international waters by Israel. These three people were crew aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla. They are humanitarian workers, not combatants, and their abduction is kidnapping and violence at sea. Firstly, we urge Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to condemn this attack and intervene now. We urge Foreign Minister Winston Peters to demand the release and protection of these three New Zealand citizens. And we urge MFAT to provide immediate consular support and accountability. Sanction Israel and recognise the state of Palestine.
