The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (PC, 1994). An all-time best. The resurgence of love for it today fills my heart. It was so weird, hard, obtuse, bug-ridden, rich, sexy (nudity!), dark, grisly, and utterly captivating. It's hard to overstate how huge it was and how many wild swings it took for 1994.

Aye, here for this! Have you tried Daggerfall Unity?

Zeliard (PC, 1990). Originally a Japanese title for the PC-88, Sierra brought this over for DOS and it was revelatory to me. I loved the whole vibe, even though it was pretty unforgiving. Would frame my love for similar games later on and start me down the path to dark fantasy.
