Whoever vets these things for display in one of my hometown's most delightful parks was either asleep at the switch or in cahoots with someone grinding a very peculiar ax.

For a bit of context: If you extend the historic Mason-Dixon Line through Missouri, it will pass right through Mark Twain's Hannibal and my hometown of St. Joseph. Growing up there, I was only vaguely and somewhat naively aware of racism, and blissfully unaware of Confederate sympathies. 2/5
