Just Chicken from Trader Joe’s is just strips of chicken breasts cooked with olive oil, salt, and pepper, so they don’t affect my food allergies either.

A variety of blooms starting to appear in the wildflower garden, though it’s still mostly greenery right now. The one I’m most excited to see fully bloom here is the crimson clover in the top left.

Apparently they’re called grape hyacinths, but the flowers are purplish blue and look like lots of miniature bells. Or a bunch of grapes.

Deal announcement: Amy Fitzgerald at Lerner/Carolrhoda Lab has acquired Little Shop of Hoarders, a YA novel by Piet Marino, in which a teen embarks on a school project to film his family's misadventures in cleaning their house of hoarded junk, resulting in unintended (and often hilarious) consequences. Publication is scheduled for spring 2027; Michelle Witte at Mansion Street Literary Management brokered the deal for world rights.

My office is finally done being painted (in a nice blue-green color with white trim), books are mostly back on a bookshelf, and everything is slowly getting put back in place. It’ll look even better once the rest of the room is done (not shown because that is still mostly chaos).
