DONALD DARKO (2001) I have a feeling I’d have been completely insufferable if I watched this movie for the first time as a teenager rather than an ~8 year old. It was really good! The vibes were bad!!!

CAPE FEAR (1991) Holy shit what a bleak and horrible movie! De Niro goes absolutely fucking crazy, Scorsese, Schoonmaker and Francis go wild with the slow zooms and incredible editing for the period, genuinely feels ahead of its time. Made me appreciate how perfect a parody Cape Feare (1993) is!
Incredible sense of unreality the whole way through, regardless of what’s true or not, the world is coming to an end for them all, felt in every single shot
