ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 (1976) John Carpenter was there at the moment America went full suburban paranoia and fucking ran with it. Serial killers, street gangs, satanists, aliens in the Antarctic. He did it all. Really good, tense as hell, it's clear that so many movies tried to be this and failed.

DRIVE (2011) A movie that solidified Ryan Gosling as "literally me", the movie that sold a thousand jackets. I love it, it's tense, beautiful to look at, the score and soundtrack are great, that man is autistic, I am sure of it.
