I didn't really fully grasp the affects of this either, so I'll link you to someone who has a comprehensive list.

It's not just roads by the way. Parks and pools were paved over in this process as white people were able to afford to move to the "right" side of these interstates. By paving over these areas, the temperature rises because parks and pools are affective at dispersing heat. When heatwaves happen, these areas feel it harsher, and in the 90s, 700 people died in Chicago from a heatwave, with black people being disproportionately affected.

they encircled black and brown redlined districts with highways so there was no exit via foot and the air pollution was horrendous, and they made bridges too low so buses couldn't pass them.
