In toxic and dysfunctional families, you're not allowed to discuss your feelings, talk about issues or concerns, or hold anyone accountable. Don't get this wrong. The TOXIC members can say what they want, tell you what they think and feel, speak their mind, take their anger out on you, and try to hold you accountable for everything, including things that aren't even your fault, but there are double standards for you. You will be given orders to STFU or else, dismissed, ignored, invalidated, minimized, and be told to move on, quit bringing it up, or to let it go, even when there's been no closure, no apologies, no accountability, and no change in their behavior. This is manipulation at its finest, and yes, it's emotional abuse.
