The photo is of a work of sculpture. It is centered on the form of an 8-foot-long dining table, which evolves from traditional place settings at the close end to soil, roots, flora and fauna at the far end. A sprouted potato sits on a white porcelain plate on a crocheted lace tablecloth. As the place settings progress, they begin to disintegrate: the tablecloth frays and knots into roots; the surface of the table roughens until it becomes soil; the plates break down until they become stones. A potato plant grows through the far end. Around the plant are insects, a mole hill with a mole, a bee, and other small animals that cannot be identified in the photo.
