Alley Cat Allies: Heatstroke in Cats Cats can develop heatstroke in as little as 10-15 minutes. If you see symptoms, contact an emergency veterinarian immediately. Signs of heatstroke in cats include: • Heavy panting • Drooling • Lethargy • Difficulty balancing • Restlessness or pacing and walking • Unusually red or pale gums or tongue • Diarrhea or vomiting • Collapse Immediate steps to help: 1. Provide a cooler area. If you're able to safely handle the cat, move them to a cooler area. If you cannot move them, find a way to provide shade where they are (umbrella, towel, etcetera). Don’t restrict their access to airflow. 2. Begin slowly cooling them down. Use cool or room temperature water to gradually lower the cat's body temperature by applying small amounts on their belly, paws, and neck. Do not use cold water. Allow the breeze, or use a small fan, to cool them. 3. Offer fresh, cool water. When the cat is alert and moving, you can offer fresh water. Do not force the cat to drink. Make sure the water is cool, not cold. 4. Monitor and make changes. Keep a close eye on the cat as they recover. Contact a veterinarian if symptoms continue. Ensure the cat has continued access to shade and fresh water.

Eto continued, MPR reports, flagging multiple failures of Mayo Clinic higher-ups to follow federal regulations on review processes of new tech, like MAYA, the clinic's Al-integrated digital assistant. We're running out of ways to say this. We can only repeat ourselves. Masked federal agents are zooming through our towns, snatching up anyone who looks Latino or African or Asian, and dousing our neighborhoods in teargas. They're raiding and staking out schools and daycares, pulling people out of cars (which are left abandoned on the roads), and sending people into hiding. Schools and businesses are shut down for safety reasons. Everyone here is fighting back. EVERYONE.
