"Manly" problems. We've all heard about them. But is it really a thing? Think about it, what exactly fits specifically only a man to do besides maybe male roles in acting; whether its appropriate content or not. "But what if the problem isn't simply how their male co-workers behave? What if the problem is the very way society has come to see the jobs themselves?" (Chira 1) society has a lot of issues with gender norms, even certain behaviors have become masculine or feminine. If someone paints their nails or wears makeup, they can get called either very pretty/beautiful/gorgeous/etc but for male presenting people, doing the same thing results in insults; i.e. "gay" "f*g" etc. but if a female presenting person does more "masculine" things(like fight with their hands or be strong physically) then they become either one of the boys or become disliked by men who are "too manly to be gay and dating a strong woman is gay." Let's face it, if being with a woman equals being with estrogen, a feminine hormone, then to be the manliest man out there you need to avoid all women and only date men, don't you think? Toxic masculinity is why some men will cause problems with men that work at their "manly" jobs and "drain it of all its manliness." Society is disgusting about some things and gender should not be something that causes these kinds of issues. We're all human for hecking sake. If something like a simple body difference causes such issues then I fear that humanity will never improve and will either end itself tragically or we devolve back into the fish we started as. We would never make it as monkeys again, we have come too far into our stupidity and hatred to survive amongst those we share DNA with. I know I went on a rant here, but gosh darn it this topic is so annoying that my main response is an angered grunt.
